The popularity of the adventurous Moab area, and more specifically, visitors camping primitively along Highway 191, necessitated the creation of the Utahraptor State Park.
Utahraptor State Park includes an entry building that houses a gift shop, a historical timeline display, and a full-size model of a velociraptor—the dinosaur initially discovered within this park, which inspired its name.
“It offers opportunities for citizens within the state of Utah and surrounding areas to visit and experience Moab, as well as to learn about its history and cultural aspects.”
Matt Boyer, Deputy Director
