Hogan’s core values are: Build, Trust, People, and Care. These values guide our decision-making within the company and how we approach everything.
Build
As a construction company, we are in the business of building structures that are made to last, but we take this value and strive to embody it beyond that. As Utah’s Community Builder™, we value building places that help communities to grow, as seen with our education, municipal, recreation, and healthcare projects. But being a community builder goes past just the physical building; we want to do more for our communities, which is why we try to support programs that support the people in our home state. An example of this is the Hogan Scholarship, where we select five recipients annually, enabling us to invest in future community leaders through educational opportunities.
Trust
Roosevelt Elementary School
There is a reason that roughly 75 percent of the projects we work with are with repeat clients. For example, during the Roosevelt Elementary School Rebuild for the Weber School District (one of three concurrent projects we were working on for WSD at the time), our estimators worked tirelessly to provide ongoing estimates, resulting in over $1M in cost savings by suggesting alternative exterior panels and tiles and using existing on-site topsoil. Our ongoing partnership with clients such as Weber School District exemplifies their trust in us as a company, something we bring to and grow with on every project.
People

People are at the cornerstone of all we do, especially our employees.
“Employees are our biggest assets. You can have everything – Outbuild, Procore, and new and procedures –but you need the person to make the magic happen,” Rob Birch, VP of Construction, said.
At Hogan, we want to ensure that our employees are cared for and equipped with the tools to succeed in their roles. As a company, we are only as successful as the people we work with: our employees, subcontractors, and clients, and we work to build trust in those relationships and show care to everyone.

Care
There are many ways we show care in all that we do. When it comes to work we produce, we care about building with quality, safety, and craftsmanship. We don’t just want to build from drawings; we also care that it’s functional for people. This can be seen through us doing things like changing locks, doors, or finishes to ensure that the people who use these buildings are happy with how they work for them.

We also care in different ways; as a company, we care that our employees are happy with their roles and are proud to work for Hogan. We care that their families are supported. We also care for our community. As we are currently rebuilding Highland High School, we wanted to support students there facing poverty and homelessness. As a company, we gathered donations for items such as soap, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, and conditioner. These items will help to meet the everyday needs of these students, and the donation process is just one example of the care we offer others.
