Constructing the New Bluffdale Public Works Building

Hogan was selected as the contractor to build the new Bluffdale Public Works Building. Over the past decade, Bluffdale City’s population has doubled, and additional municipal space has been greatly needed to better support its community.

The new 35,000 SF facility, built on 7.5 acres, includes administrative & training spaces, climate-controlled covered vehicle and equipment storage, vehicle maintenance facilities, an automatic vehicle wash, fuel storage and dispensing, a Vactor dump, fleet parts, and a tire storage warehouse. This new location will serve as a hub for all public works-related issues and help alleviate the strain the city previously faced due to limited space.

During the construction of the project, one of the unique challenges our team faced was mechanical coordination. Between the shop and admin spaces, some subcontractor details were overlooked, putting the schedule in jeopardy. After assessing different options, Hogan decided to step in and supplement the work. Through communication with the architect and owner, all parties discussed alternative schedule changes, which allowed the project to be completed on time.

Our superintendent, Ryan Lapp, especially appreciated working with Bluffdale City and the faith they placed in Hogan to ensure everything was done to the highest standards, resulting in a state-of-the-art facility that will support the community for generations to come.
