The new Sunset Jr. High was built within feet of the former school. Before being rebuilt, it was one of the district’s oldest schools, originally built in 1963.

Due to the site’s high water table, the engineer had designed a separate drain. However, during construction, we realized $500k in savings by incorporating a cut-off drain into the footings and foundation.
Sunset Jr. High boasts striking colors and next-generation learning spaces, and is a “Teacher Academy” school for the Davis School District, partnering with local universities to provide student teaching opportunities.
Our project team kept students safe & maintained a safe site through strict separation methods and frequent communication with school staff.
